Chris’ CD, Friends, has finally returned from the manufacturer after several delays and is now available through mail order from Spero Ministries. This album has been a dream of Chris’ for many years. He was often asked if he had an album of the songs he performs at retreats, camps and concerts. Although this is actually Chris’ second album it is his first to be made available on CD. Last May the project began as Chris and his producer, Dave Spurr, began to work on some basic arraignments. In June, just before Camp Big Deal, Chris went into the studio to finish the basic tracts and finalize the list of songs that would be put on the album. In August, the recording was completed when vocals, the live instruments, and the mastering of the final mix was committed to tape. The project was held up by art work decisions and copyright permissions. The album finally went to the record company in mid-December and is now available for purchase. What is on the album
| The album has 13 listed songs and 1 bonus track. The title track
“Friends” is the finale of the album as it is the theme of Camp
Big Deal.
The album opens with a country rock flavor with three favorites: “I Have Decided” - an old standard with attitude, “Praise Song” - a Chris original, and one of his trademark songs - “I’m Gonna Sing”. Next is the Latin flavored “El Camino Del Amor” followed by the rocker “River of Love” and the funky soul of “Take It To Heart” |
The album slows down with “Trust In Me”,
which was written by Chris during Camp Big Deal in 1996 and
“Sanctuary”.an all time favorite of campers and retreat
candidates.
“Halle Halle Halle”, “God’s Not Dead” and “Bless Ye the Lord” are next followed by the finale of the angelic “And I Will Follow You”, and of course “Friends.” Concluding the album is a bonus track ???? Check it out! |
